Wednesday Break

Decided to take full advantage of my new Wednesday off and headed straight from uni to the Yarra Valley for a full 20 hours of bliss before returning back to hectic reality. Stopped off at this beautiful lake to watch the sunset on our way to IB for dinner (I know, typical.. but the food is just too delish!) Not gonna lie I am slightly jealous you got to puppysit Moo all night, seriously missed that boy!

Took a break from the tennis for the day and headed out to my fave lunch spot with Deb. Found you an epic new tuna salad to try, complete with cottage cheese, it is sooo up our alley! Decided I'd ignore the 35 degree heat today and rock this amazing floral bomber when I noticed how similar the print is to these Senso sandals. Can't believe we never noticed, seriously a match made in heaven!

Pulled out a seriously bright and colourful outfit for today's beach session. Fell in love with these shorts when I found them in a store in LA and was so excited to find out they were Shakuhachi. Loving that a few of our fave Aussie labels are making it big in the US at the moment. FYI have since found out there are bathers that come in the same print which I'm dying for...in case you're starting to brainstorm for my birthday present!

How Two Give Day 5

Andable is an online marketplace where independent designers sell their wares. From clothing to collectables, not only do they have some serious cool stuff for sale, the Andable community helps people living in poverty by giving them access to basic financial services like loans. How Two Give Day 3

HTL's fave pup Bo has featured on the blog a few times now, but we've never actually told her story. She was abandoned in a car park at 4 weeks old with her 7 brothers and sisters, and they were sent to a local shelter to find new homes. There are now websites you can visit that feature animals from lots of different shelters so you can pick out your new pet as easily as you can buy those new pair of Jeffrey Campbells (but make sure you give this purchase a little more thought!). The number of dogs and cats abandoned often peaks over christmas, so what better time than to adopt your own furry friend in need of a loving home. After all, dog is man's best friends...and best accessory! Note: Walking the dog in heels was not our finest of ideas. Don't try this at home.

Indulge in some guilt-free shopping for someone else. Organisations like the Starlight Children's Foundation, who help seriously ill children and their families, will pass your gifts onto children who need a little brightening up this Christmas. Comme Des Garcons Pocket

Last night I headed into the city to check out the opening of Comme Des Garcons Pocket. It's their first Australian store and stocks 'Play', their street wear line. It's a seriously cool set up, and I now have my eye on their neon accessories which were particularly amazing. Wasn't the same to not have my other half there with me (aka you) and I got asked more than a few times where you were - love that people have now learnt that we come as a twosome - but Kausy made a great stand-in and even managed to pull an HTL pout or two for the cameras.

Mid-Week Getaway

All ready and rugged up for my mid-week getaway to the Yarra Valley. Got invited to escape from the city for a couple of days which you know I would never turn down. Can't believe summer has officially started and I'm still in a fur coat and moon boots. Gotta say though I am very happy to have had the chance to rock these adorable earmuffs. Obviously die for the colour but I really love them because they feel like kittens - it's like Hallie's sitting on my head!

Somers General Store

In Somers for the day, our search for a decent lunch ended early when we discovered the Somers General Store. Delicious salads, sandwiches, and even the standard Melbourne offering of corn fritters, this cute local corner store was everything we were looking for. When we went to check out the courtyard post-meal we found this amazing old ice-cream truck that was too awesome not to be snapped. Hope they're planning on reviving it some time soon!

Went to an event at Danish store 'Dansk' on Chapel Street to sip on a champagne (or two) and view their latest collections. Having been to Copenhagen a few months ago where I absolutely fell in love with so many of the local labels, I was seriously excited to be invited along to check it all out. Even left with an awesome pair of sunglasses by their house label, which are no doubt about to become a very regular feature on the blog.

Gardiner and Field

Finally went to Gardiner and Field for lunch yesterday after weeks of trying to get there. The quinoa salad I had was definitely delicious but props had to go to my choc milkshake which arrived in a cold metal cup, major win... and seriously brought me back to our old High Street Caf days! Don't think I could be loving on your Europe wardrobe more. This jacket is literally the most amazing thing I've ever seen (and felt), never taking it off!!

Fish Facts

Felt like a change from the usual dinner choice of Hanoi (as I was there both nights prior) so we headed to Hooked for a delicious fishy feast. I opted for the grilled house fish with salad but I got a little excited with the never ending supply of Big Red and turned my dinner into ketchup with a side of snapper more than anything else. Was very tempted to sneak next door to LOTF for some takeaway onion rings but decided you'd be too jealous so I'm waiting until you're home - which is today! YAY!!

Au Revoir Paris

After 5 months spent in my favourite city in the world (or at least one of my top 3!), it's finally time to come home. Despite my hardest efforts to convince myself that I want to be leaving, I've failed to come up with a single thing that I don't like about being here...well aside from the fact that every time I spend more than 2 minutes outside my whole body freezes and I declare that I must be getting pneumonia - although this is likely due to the fact that I choose fashion over warmth every time. So it's with a lot of grief and a knew knowledge of how to ship your entire wardrobe half way across the world that I say: Au revoir Paris. See you soon J!

Family Dinner

Had fam dinner at Naomi's this week which was so nice, particularly because it meant I got to play with Carri bear all night... definitely missed you and Jerome though not gonna lie. Been so excited to show you these pants and cannot wait for you to see them in person, they're absolutely amazing! I got lots of compliments on my attention to detail which was hilarious - everyone was so impressed that I had matched my toe nail polish colour with the colour of the pants... it was totally unintentional but I took credit for it anyway.

Lyon

Jerome and I have come down to Lyon to spend a couple of days with Meme (aka grandma). We decided to head into town for the afternoon, and while on our way to the Metro station we ended up slightly lost and wandered into this incredible secret garden that was complete with an old wooden swing and a chicken coop! Almost found ourselves in trouble when we were discovered by the owners, but played the clueless tourists and pulled out the thick Aussie accents, and we soon had them giving us a tour of the place. Gotta love the Australia card, works every time.

WAH Nails

Have been dying to try out WAH Nails for a while now. The kings of nail art, they were recommended highly by Hayley Hughes. You pick out your design from a giant wall of pictures, which is so overwhelming that I ended up with a different design on each nail. I was seriously impressed with the way they painted everything freehand, and in particular can’t get over how incredible the roses look! Afterwards we headed East to check out Spitafields Market, which was kind of like Camberwell Market meets Up & Comers. And yes I know you’ve been waiting for me to mention the jacket…*sigh*…isn’t she beautiful.
