Website Preparations

After spending the morning listening to an inspiring talk by marketing guru (and all-round hilarious person) Mary Portas, my shiny new perspex bag and I set off on a serious day of errands and meetings in preparation for the HTL website launch coming up. I was in a bit of a lazy fashion mood and felt like my outfit was pretty low key for HTL standards, although I did get quite a few comments on my new muscle tee from Market HQ! Combine skulls and dip-dye and you just can't go wrong.

I woke up for uni in a very bad mood at a far too early hour and decided the only thing that would pull me out of this funk was if I were to cover myself in smiling daisies for the day. So that's exactly what I did, and let me tell you it was quite effective! Love that we're clearly both feeling Lazy Oaf at the moment. I also bought Gig a pair of socks and matching note pad from their website the other day. That's right, they match hosiery with stationary - total genius! ALWL Day 1

Thought we'd kick off the week of Aussie Labels We Love with a serious up-and-comer. We only first found out about this label a couple of months ago, but boy was it life changing. Offering a mix of vintage as well as an in-house label, their pieces feature seriously cool and unique prints, and best of all: they sure know how to work a twosie. We went matching on matching while winery hopping on our trip to Tasmania this weekend - think this foursie is an HTL first!

Wednesday Break

Decided to take full advantage of my new Wednesday off and headed straight from uni to the Yarra Valley for a full 20 hours of bliss before returning back to hectic reality. Stopped off at this beautiful lake to watch the sunset on our way to IB for dinner (I know, typical.. but the food is just too delish!) Not gonna lie I am slightly jealous you got to puppysit Moo all night, seriously missed that boy!

Somers Time

Had an epic (and very hectic) weekend up at Somers for Steffi Beach. After searching up and down Chapel Street for  the perfect outfit I finally decided on this amazing kaftan from Sass and Bide. Initially I was unsure about the lack of colour but then I realised it just meant I could add some crazy accessories which of course I always love!

A New Local

Tried out this new Japanese place for dinner - still in search of a replacement Takara, our Paris favourite (who would've thought my favourite Japanese in the world would be found in France!) While service was a little slow, the food was seriously delicious, and this place just may need to be added to my list of locals. My tastebuds are getting warmed up for our next trip...why can't it be April already!

Not Another Twosie

Back home and obviously straight to the tennis! Had an epic night watching Federer smash Raonic.. although my jetlag did prevent me from enjoying it fully as I was deliriously tired through the entire second half. Always did love this twosie so I was so excited the other day when I found it buried at the very back of our closet.  PS hope you're dying for this adorable double rainbow combo as much as I am!

Hello Kitty Shoes

After a week in this routine consisting of nothing but eating, sleeping, tanning and relaxing, decided to change it up today - if only very slightly - and visit the pond to watch the sharks being fed. The 3 baby sharks have become like our pets while we've been here, earning the nicknames Carrie, Charlotte and Samantha (we never cared too much for Miranda). Dying to take Samantha the hamerhead home for Bo to play with!

Boys Day

Day two in Hawaii was potentially the most active day of my life - started out with a tennis game before breakfast, followed by a morning of tanning by this amazing pool. By afternoon we were on the basketball courts playing 21and to finish off had the most intense table tennis competition of my life.. gotta love being away with boys! Have to admit though, I am getting excited for some serious girl time when it's just us next week!

How Two Give Day 7

With 2013 coming up there's nothing quite like cleaning out the wardrobe to make way for a new year of beautiful new purchases. We've found that while giving away clothes is a difficult task, giving away bras is much easier...and it may surprise you to know that there are organisations out there who want them. Initiatives like the Uplift Project collect second hand bras and distribute them to women in disadvantaged communities. They offer a great solution to help make space for next season's trends, and at the same time you'll be helping women who don't have access to a basic thing we take for granted.

Indulge in some guilt-free shopping for someone else. Organisations like the Starlight Children's Foundation, who help seriously ill children and their families, will pass your gifts onto children who need a little brightening up this Christmas. Make-up or clothes could make a great gift for a young girl - think about how excited you'd be to get a Shakuhachi maxi dress or an awesome pair of platforms under the tree, and now imagine the smile on her face when she gets hers!

So devastated that my week in paradise has officially come to an end, but not before a hilarious last night out at Cheeky Monkey with the boys and a late night stop at Abrakebabra. With my new flares in mind, I decided to channel Rainbow Brite and got my colour on in a big way. Beach Day

Finally woke up to blue skies yesterday morning so headed straight to the beach for another amazing day. I spent the entire time reading my book (which is crazy and you have to read!) but obviously took a break for an epic lunch at Orgasmic Falafel. Picked up the most ridiculous pair of flares while here which you are actually going to die for... I think I'll have to post in them before home because I just can't wait for you to see!

Mid-Week Getaway

All ready and rugged up for my mid-week getaway to the Yarra Valley. Got invited to escape from the city for a couple of days which you know I would never turn down. Can't believe summer has officially started and I'm still in a fur coat and moon boots. Gotta say though I am very happy to have had the chance to rock these adorable earmuffs. Obviously die for the colour but I really love them because they feel like kittens - it's like Hallie's sitting on my head!

FOM Sale

Headed to the Friend Of Mine sample sale at Down Yonder yesterday, so devo that you just miss it! Was hoping to find a couple of Tarzan (or nappy) skirts but when they were nowhere to be seen I settled for an amazing pair of red pants and a bag that I've had my eye on for months. Was a little underwhelmed with the outfit choice when I left home in the morning but the weird looks I consistently received throughout the day confirmed that I did indeed look like a freak. Mission accomplished!

Gig and I felt like something a little different so we decided to go to the Cross for some delicious porridge and people watching. Surprisingly blended in with all the crazies in this matching bag and shirt combo - I picked these up from the same place I got my glasses (a new store in Surry Hills you'll love). What you actually can't see behind the jumbo sized sunnies is the epic burn I am now sporting after 2 days of solid tanning. Major ouch!
